[Current Music |ra ra riot]

I got weight lifting at 4:30am
work at 8:00am
cycling class at 6:30pm (with Chris hopefully)

I had a little scare about my weight and I don't want to be a fat loser at 30 i want to be in better shape than I was in high school. And I want to have energy to play with my kids in the future(thats if i have kids), and not be tired out fast just because I had a long day at work.

anyways I' thinking too far ahead.... the world is gonna end in 2012 anyways so why bother?
hahaha

i kid

I want to look good now.

so good night...

heres a quote:

"Indeed if . . . God were present in me only as a pure abstraction, in the form of a concept, then granted that any representation of God is totally inadequate, it might be asked how I could possibly avoid agnosticism. . . . On such a hypothesis, my knowledge would be empty. But in fact the hypothesis is empty. For there is always more in the concept than the concept itself."

I say this Reed health care bill is so terrible that it does not deserve a debate much less any consideration.

I'm once again going to raise this topic because the struggle is not over and if this bill passes it will just drag us deeper into our financial hole.
A little background:
The only countries that have a single-payer based nationalized health care systems in this world are Canada and North Korea. In both Canada and NK the waiting periods for critical medical treatments are outrageously long! Most doctors choose to specialize in one area of medicine and do not practice general medicine because the pay for a general care doctor is low and private insurance which promotes competition and better wages for doctors is illegal in Canada.
In most European countries the health care system is nationalized but not considered single-payer since the citizens have an option for private insurance.
Now if the US passed the universal health care plan(single-payer) how would this benefit us?
Single-payer health care destroys private insurers.
It means no one has a choice as to who insures them.
Under this bill a price will be payed, even those who belong to the "invincible generation" (those who are young and healthy and see no need for purchasing health insurance) will have no choice, even those who are perfectly happy with the insurance they currently have will have that choice taken as well(which is about 87% of the US population).
If not payed the penalty can be a heavy fine or imprisonment.
THIS BILL TAKES AWAY YOUR CHOICE!

Where in the United States Constitution does government have the power to do this?
Does the government not already have enough involvement in our health care system?

Do you believe that other countries have better health care systems?
Certainly not!
BY not allowing competition in the medical field how can we expect to make any advances. Is our health care system really as flawed as the government controled media wants you to believe? Do thousands really die because of lack of insurance?
Of course not!

Do you think US residents go to other countries for health care? Because they will be treated better?
Of course not!
People come from other countries to the US for treatment!
WHY?
Because our health care is among the best in the world.

If you don't believe, a little research would not hurt.
examples:
when Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi needed a heart surgery for his pacemaker did he receive it in Italy?
No
he had his surgery at the Cleveland Clinic heart center in Ohio. If Universal health care was so great why didn't Berlusconi simply have his surgery done in Italy??

In Canada a patient who believed had colon cancer was denied a colonoscopy and was given x-ray studies instead. An x-ray is not a good way to determine colon cancer and after being denied a colonoscopy several times the patient finally died soon after of colon cancer.

That Canada health care...gotta love it.

In the UK elderly women were denied treatments for breast cancer due to drug shortages.

[Many women with breast cancer are being denied treatment that could extend their lives because doctors are making judgments about their health on grounds of age, said cancer specialists this week.
Yet half the women who get breast cancer are aged over 65, and of these women 60% will die from the disease, said Professor Ian Fentiman, professor of surgical oncology at Guy's Hospital, London, at a debate on breast cancer in elderly women held in London by the charities Help the Aged and Cancer Research UK. The treatment of the disease in elderly women is shrouded in myths, he said, many doctors believing that a growing tumour is not a problem for old women because "they are going to die soon anyway."]

Is this the healthcare we want provided for us?

i getting pretty heated on this topic
and although i most likely left out a lot of key points i wanted to discuss i will add to this later.

But I really want everyones opinion.

I would like more people to get involved [Nov. 2nd, 2009|02:05 am]
[Current Mood | determined]

My parents came to this country because it is the Land of opportunity where one can earn money relative to their efforts.
Why should the wealth be distributed?
Why should our tax dollars be used for free health care for all?
Don't we work for our piece of the pie?
Why should I be forced to share my pie?

Its slavery

Why should my tax dollars be used to bail out loan companies? And regulate pay for the bank executives?

Why is our current leader pushing for more government involvement?

Regan my hero.

This second video is kinda funny haha

goodbye social life. [Sep. 28th, 2009|04:59 pm]
So my new work schedule this year is 6pm through 6am wednesday through friday and 6am through 6pm on sunday. That is a solid 48 hours a week meaning a solid 450 dollar check each week.

It seems like a really fucked up schedule. I can't wait for three weeks paid vacation though!

O so I guess this means the Vegan potluck is tommorrow or saturday.
